Here at UPPAbaby, we are doing our best to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic as a company. Connections, relationships, and supporting our stores and customers are more important than ever, so we’d like to share with you what we are doing corporately to help during this global health crisis.
On March 16, 2020, we closed our offices to all but a few staff members who need to work from headquarters to keep product and parts distribution running smoothly. Our mostly empty building affords them plenty of room to social distance while getting shipments processed. We are so lucky to be able to keep the rest of our amazing employees working full time from their homes, and they haven’t missed a beat. Our Design and Development teams are continuing their work on future product development, Customer Experience is as available and responsive as always, and our Marketing and Communications departments are extremely busy continuously sharing updated information on our website and social channels to serve as a resource for you. Additionally, we are offering virtual Tune-UP Gear-UP sessions and car seat safety checks since we can’t meet with you in person at events.
We understand that this is a very challenging time to purchase products. Retail locations largely remain closed, making it difficult to touch and feel our strollers and car seats or to ask questions and receive feedback in person. Many of you are putting non-essential purchase decisions on hold right now. However, families are still welcoming new babies, and those of you at home with young children are looking to get them out into the fresh air whenever possible. We are supporting those stores who are still able to sell products, and we have created an alternate retail locator page on our website to direct consumers to local retailers who are able to service them, either curbside or remotely through their online stores.
Within our local community in Massachusetts, we are supporting front line healthcare workers. Our Operations and Manufacturing teams have been working with our suppliers to procure as much Personal Protective Equipment as they can and shipping it to our headquarters. In addition, we brought fabric remnants from our office to a local tailor to sew into masks. We distribute everything we receive immediately to hospitals in our area including South Shore Hospital just a few miles up the road from us in Weymouth, Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. All of these hospitals remain short on PPE, and COVID-19 cases are still rising for them. We are so grateful for the thousands of healthcare workers in these facilities who are risking their own lives to serve our communities, and we are happy to be able to make donations to help them stay safe.
We want to assure you that we will continue to be there for you, our extended UPPAbaby family, however we can. We miss seeing you at events, but love hearing from you through our social media channels and seeing how you and your families are making the best of this quality time together.
