Support NICU Families

Project Sweet Peas is a national nonprofit that supports families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and those who have experienced infant loss. Founded in 2009 by NICU parents, the organization was built on the belief that no family should feel alone during one of life's most vulnerable moments. Through its programs and partnerships, Project Sweet Peas provides essential resources, emotional support, and meaningful moments of comfort to more than 25,000 families each year. Every initiative is rooted in compassion and lived experience.

"As a NICU mom myself, partnerships like the one we share with UPPAbaby mean so much. They go above and beyond, standing beside us in our mission to bring comfort and practical support to families navigating the NICU journey. Through this partnership, we are also able to support dedicated hospital staff by providing Mamaroo infant swings to NICUs, helping soothe and comfort babies who need extra care. Together, we are making sure no parent walks this road alone and that both families and caregivers feel supported with the tools they need every step of the way."

NICU Nurse Spotlight

“Behind every incubator is a NICU nurse holding steady in the chaos, caring for someone’s entire world sometimes with a baby gently soothed nearby in a Mamaroo, reminding us that even in the most fragile moments, there’s comfort, motion, and hope.”

“The Mamaroo swings provide a calming motion that helps reduce fussiness and promotes longer periods of rest, which is important for growth and development in premature babies. The swings have also provided support to nursing staff and families by creating a more comforting environment that mimics natural movement and allows the parents to feel some sort of normalcy like being at home.”

“The Mamaroo swings have made a meaningful difference in our NICU. One memorable experience involved a baby with chronic bronchopulmonary dysplasia who remained ventilator-dependent during a prolonged NICU stay. We were able to place him in the Mamaroo, and the gentle rhythmic motion noticeably helped calm and comfort him while he remained safely supported on the ventilator.”
