No, UPPAbaby does not allow vehicle seat protectors with their car seats because they haven't been tested or approved for use. The car seat base has a finished bottom to prevent vehicle seat damage.
While not required by law, the Multi-Directional Tether is strongly recommended for use in both rear and forward-facing mode for optimal protection. It significantly reduces injury scores by as much as 45%.

In both rear-facing and forward-facing mode, the headrest should be positioned at the child’s shoulders to ensure proper fit of the harness. The headrest can lightly touch the shoulders and allow 1 in of space between the child’s shoulders and headrest.
